VICTORIAN HOUSE HISTORY The house was built in West Central Illinois about 1891 by Frank Eastman, the brother of George Eastman, and the son of P.L. Eastman of Buffalo, New York. The house was designed by a New York architect, whose name is unknown, to be ahead of its time. A vacationing family member, remembers seeing an exact replica of the entry staircase in the Smithsonian Institute. The house has been a long-standing landmark in this community. There have been many families that have called it home over the years, sometimes more than one at a time.
